Day 40 – 15.05.2011 Sunday on South Beach in Dar es Salaam – Sunrise Beach Resort
The resort is full of locals, mostly wealthy Indians who make a good Sunday on the beach. The quality of the resort has been substantially reduced, the restrooms are not cleaned, and there are hardly any tourists there. However, we don’t want to move for one or two nights in neighboring Kipepeo Beach Resort, its even louder there.
Unfortunately, the ocean is not as clean as or in Pemba Kilwa, but what the hell, we go swimming anyway. We are once again the only white persons. In the evening, the nightmare is over, the resort is empty again. While the moon rises over the coconut trees and the bats give their metallic pling pling, we cook potatoes for potato salad, we will have it with fish fingers, a shame if you are directly on the ocean, but we both are not fish eaters and hate the bones.
